I am a Liberty University Ph.D. student, police officer, husband, and historian.
I became a police officer to fulfill the extraordinary commitment I felt toward my community. Law Enforcement has since rewarded me with pride, character, and many job skills throughout my career. I did not understand what I signed up for, but I am thankful I did! My five-year plan is to retire from JSO with my Ph.D. in History and move on to teach history as a part-time adjunct online and local area colleges.
I was born in South Dakota and grew up in Florida. Raised as an only child, I loved sports and played basketball in high school. I grew up in a Southern Baptist church and found myself at every youth group event pondering theology and the philosophy of life and politics. Rocked by my parent’s divorce, I entered the full-time workforce just after graduating high school but later earned my Bachelor degree in history and Master’s degree in American history. I met my wife in 2009 and we enjoy traveling to world and experiencing the journey of life together. We have a Brittany named Bellatrix and a domestic short-hair cat named Isla.
I attended Liberty University from 2011 to 2016, earning my Bachelor degree in History. From 2016 to 2019, I attended American Military University earning my Master of Arts degree in American History. I am a Ph.D. History student at Liberty University.
